The Role

Demand/Media Director

This position will report into the VP/Head of Demand/Media and will be responsible for managing direct reports comprised of media planners and junior media planners that develop and execute media recommendations on behalf of clients. As the Media Director, you will regularly attend, and contribute to client meetings, offering points-of-view, recommendations, and ideas for optimizing campaign performance and digital media budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocates for the value of media channels by educating clients, partners and internal teams on the latest tech/data advancements and capabilities in this quickly evolving space.
  • Assists in new business efforts as needed.
  • Assures that the media staff adheres to established agency policies/procedures.
  • Closely monitors performance and provides direction to improve performance through optimization and/or implementing new strategies.
  • Conducts reviews and performance evaluations of media team to ensure that effective, efficient, and profitable staff operations are maintained; working closely with Associate Media Directors to provide mentorship and guidance to the team.
  • Conducts 1:1 meeting with direct reports and onboarding new hires.
  • Contributes to the team’s knowledge base through hands-on mentoring, training, and participation in team calls/meetings.
  • Creates and delivers presentations to both clients and internal teams showcasing campaign strategy and performance results.
  • Creates and shares POVs on new technologies, trends, and opportunities in the media landscape.
  • Demonstrates a deep technical understanding of paid media including troubleshooting and action plans to identify and remedy performance challenges.
  • Develops a strong partnership with the client service team.
  • Develops a complete understanding of each client’s goals, markets, needs and expectations of MOI Global.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors client spend ensuring profitability (spend, fees, vs vendor invoiced).
  • Drives client retention, supporting revenue growth and guiding the media team to align client objectives with KPIs to drive optimal campaign performance.
  • Ensures initiatives are executed and managed in a manner that meets and exceeds expectations and delivers against client objectives.
  • Establishes and grow relationships with senior media clients, as well as be a key agency contacts and internal agency partners.
  • Establishes expectations and goals for team on performance marketing thought leadership.
  • Facilitates the development and documentation of best practices to improve operational efficiencies within the team and the group.
  • Guides conversations and helping your team plan and execute holistic media strategies using various media channels.
  • Interfaces with other department leads to share ideas, communicate service offerings, and identify and deliver new solutions for clients.
  • Keeps senior management apprised of key client opportunities, potential risks and other key nuances which affect the health of the business.
  • Leverages syndicated digital research to benchmark trends and/or manage expectations of forecasted trends.
  • Maintains excellent external professional relationships with media publishers and partners.
  • Manages and oversees monthly and end of campaign client billing, media budget reconciliations.
  • Manages workflow, efficient and profitable servicing of client(s), staffing levels, fosters healthy team structure, team assignments.
  • Motivates, leads, and manages internal teams, working collaboratively to drive programs that meet our clients’ business objectives.
  • Participates in team planning sessions regarding client strategy and approach, providing leadership, consultation and acting as a voice for media.
  • Partners with data analysts on campaign measurement reporting and insights.
  • Prioritizes client needs and being resourceful while finding solutions to solve client problems.
  • Provides strategic direction and dissemination of work to assigned team.
  • Stays apprised of new technologies and trends and a keen understanding of social landscape to incorporate into media driven solutions and business building ideas.
  • Strategic planning lead creating media plans that achieve client business goals, including setting key metrics, measurement, and optimization strategies.
  • Is able/competent to dive into media platforms where necessary.


Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in digital media planning and buying + 5 years managing individuals / having direct reports
  • Ability to define and implement professional standards for team participation, conflict resolution, problem solving, and communication (internal and external).
  • Ability to work well in a cross functional team environment.
  • Eager to learn but bringing to the team an existing track record of established experience in the paid media space.
  • Heavy attention to detail.
  • Holistic understanding of the digital media landscape including search, social, and programmatic, particularly in the world of b2b.
  • Proven communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven organization skills.
  • Proven track record of leadership/mentoring.
  • Strategic thinking and proactive client servicing skills.
  • Strong issue resolution and problem-solving capabilities.

Enhancing Criteria

  • Experience within an agency setting.
  • Prior experience within the B2B industry / Demand Gen / ABM.
  • Experience with analytics/visualization tools and platforms.
